Our driver will be waiting for you at the arrival’s hall to take you to your hotel located in the city of Alajuela.

This morning meet your guide/driver at the lobby.
Departure to the Cerros de Turrubares is set in the countryside near Costa Rica’s central Pacific coast. While fairly remote, this area is close to both the Carara National Park and the Pacific coastline.

On the way, stop to enjoy a guided walk at the national park, home to a stunning variety of rare birds. Your expert guide will point out species ranging from parrots, humming birds, jacamars, parakeets and gorgeous water birds ranging from herons to kingfishers. Along with all of these exciting species, Carara is also home to Costa Rica’s largest remaining population of wild scarlet macaws.

In addition to the incredible exotic bird species, you might also see American crocodiles, poison dart frogs, capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, and both two-toed and three-toed sloths.

After breakfast, enjoy a walk to the waterfall.
The Macaw Lodge Private Reserve was lovingly nurtured into an oasis of biodiversity. The Reserve spans on 247 acres between dry and humid forests, entirely dedicated to the preservation of its rich natural diversity and ancient history. The trail to the waterfall winds 800 meters through the deep forest, to explore plants, animals, history and scenic beauty. Enjoy a refreshing dip and play in the waterfalls.

In the afternoon, learn more about the cocoa.

Since ancient times, it has been vital to life in Central America. Mayans invented the basics of preparing cocoa, a process still used today—fermentation, drying and roasting of the beans, then shelling, grinding and milling.

This experience takes you through our cocoa plantations to learn about the varieties of cocoa trees, the characteristics of the fruit, and all that’s involved in the process of bringing this beneficial fruit to the table.

Let’s head to the Northern Zone, to Arenal.

Stop en route to enjoy lunch at the Chayote Lodge, this place has a nice view of the central valley and coffee plantations. Here you can also enjoy a yoga class in a very nice platform surrounded by trees.

Continue to Arenal.

La Fortuna (which means The Great Fortune) is home not only to one of the most exciting volcanoes in Costa Rica (Arenal), but to some of the most beautiful waterfalls, hot springs, indigenous communities and horseback riding trails in the country.

This land is our very own natural theme park with a wide variety of activities and services to satisfy your cravings for adventure, pampering, fine dining and in-depth cultural exchange.

Lodging at Arenal Observatory Lodge, it’s safely located 2.7 kilometers (1.7 miles) from the south side of Arenal Volcano, but the live volcano seems so close that you could reach out and touch it. The perfectly shaped volcanic cone commands nearly every view at the hotel – from the panoramic windows of the Arenal Observatory restaurant to the main buildings and most of the guest rooms.

At night, visit Tabacon hot springs (unlimited access while you are staying here) Discover Costa Rica´s largest network of naturally flowing thermal mineral springs in Arenal’s largest and most beautiful private rainforest reserve.

There are five main springs source highly mineralized water that is heated underground by the Arenal Volcano’s magma. Thousands of gallons of this perfect water naturally emanate every minute. The thermal water flows throughout the resort, forming the Tabacon River. You will find dozens of cascading waterfalls and warm pools along the riverbed, of varying temperatures, water flows and degree of privacy.

after breakfast, the first stop will be the lookout point at Arenal 1968, at this place, is the climate allows it, you will have one of the special yoga class during the trip.

Then, enjoy a guided walk to Arenal National Park, on this hike along the trails you will enter into the tropical forest and areas which were once devastated by the fury of the volcano. During the hike, it is possible to see a great variety the area’s characteristic flora and fauna, as well as sites of interest like the impact craters and on to the Lava slides of 1992, a large accumulation of solidified volcanic material ejected from the crater of this might colossus, during the very active period of that year. On clear days, you will enjoy incredible views of the impressive Arenal Volcano, Arenal Lake, the Tilarán mountain range, and Cerro Chato.

Your naturalist guide will provide you with important and interesting information about the main characteristics of the volcano, which has been active since 1968 and many more details about all of the things you will encounter along the trail.

In the afternoon, visit Sky Adventures Park, here you will ride the tram up the mountain, and then get back to the base riding the thrilling ziplines, making it a perfect adventure activity with no walking segments – get off and jump on to the next cable. You’ll ride 7 cables that go up to 200m (656ft) in height and 750m (2460ft) in length where you will be astounded by its impressive heights, speeds that go up to 70km/h (43.5mph), views, and because you will be able to admire the surrounding mountains like in no other place.

Today you will spend the day at Rancho Margot Farm.
Owned by the Sostheim family who have worked tirelessly to develop the environment as one of the most advanced sustainable and self-sufficient tourism projects in Costa Rica. All senses come alive, inspired by the rushing river, valley breeze, and playful birdsong, as you find and enjoy your practice in this space.

Dive into an experimential exploration of all aspects behind the sustainable and self-sufficient practices of Rancho Margot, from organic agriculture and food processing to energy production and carbon neutrality.

After lunch, depart on horseback from the stables and behold unforgettable views of over 60,000 hectares of rainforest, Lake Arenal, Arenal Volcano, Cerro Chato, Volcan Tenorio, Miravalles and Rincon de La Vieja.

Drive to the Northern Pacific.

Stop en route to have a quite trip on a raft.

The Corobici River in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica offers a tranquil floating trip with Class I and II rapids that will satisfy any nature lover and mellow adventurer. The tropical dry forest is full of many bird species and mammals. This trip is perfect for folks who are just looking to relax on the river while taking in the forest and scenery.

Lunch will be at very nice Hacienda, close from the river’s take out point.

Separated from Tamarindo by the Matapalo River is Grande Beach (Playa Grande) located within Marino Las Baulas National Park, Grande Beach is the site of the arribadas of the leatherback turtle from May to August.

Playa Grande is also perfect for surfing, but on the northern end of the beach, a small trail leads to Playa Ventanas, which has a beautiful beach and a tiny bay perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

A peaceful sanctuary for health and wellbeing. The hotel’s yoga space is made of beautiful teak wood, enclosed by tall glass windows and covered by a majestic palapa roof. From the moment you enter the studio amidst the palms and bamboo gardens, you will feel calm and at ease. Also there is another indoor space, that can be used for your yoga class.

Later, take a Stand up Paddleboard over to Captain Island in the Tamarindo Bay! No need for experience, we will give you a lesson before if you need it. You don’t need a boat to go snorkeling, just take a SUP on over to Isla Capitan! You will snorkel around for a while, with great opportunities to see a variety of fish, stingrays, octupus, and coral. After 45 minutes of snorkeling and viewing the bay from the island, you will paddle back and enjoy a snack.
