Head to Central America and travel to the beaches, volcanoes and National Parks of El Salvador. El Salvador may be the smallest country in Central America but it’s certainly one of its most charming. Less touristy than its neighbors, El Salvador is rich in natural beauty, pristine beaches, countless volcanoes, many Maya ruins and a great culture and rich history. Yoga Travels has curated a tour that includes daily yoga plus activities like kayaking and hiking.

Itinerary
Arrive at San Salvador airport.
Your driver will pick you up at the airport and drive to your hotel at the beach of Sunzal where you will stay the night.
The town of El Tunco is a small bohemian surf town with several world class waves around.

Afterwards you seek adventure in Apaneca. Several active options around the green lagoon: You can mountain bike or hike. Bike tour starts up the mountains of Apaneca and visits the Laguna Verde Crater Lake and takes you on a downhill ride which can be all the way into the near colonial town. Another option is to hike around the lagoon, trough the coffee plantations.
Transfer back to your hotel in Sunzal.

Breakfast.
You will get up early to drive to the National park “Los Volcanes”. Here come together the volcanoes of Izalco, Santa Ana and Cerro Verde. The volcanoes are located within beautiful scenery and have a wide biodiversity.
Yoga session upon arrival at the park.
You will be able to spot some 300 year old trees climbing to amazing heights. There are many species of animals living inside the park; among them are many types of hummingbirds and the black birds known as “chara” which feed other birds such as toucans, during their mating season. On the path ‘The Orchids’, where you can see the beauty of these exotic plants that grow wild in the region.
At 11 am you will hike up Volcano Ilamatepec (Santa Ana) 2,381 meters above sea level, the tallest volcano in El Salvador. The volcano has four craters and one of them held a sulfur lagoon. It’s most recent eruption was on the morning of October 1st. 2005. The volcano is located within the hills of Apaneca, surrounded by cloud forests, in region full of coffee plantations. You will have a great view to Lake Coatepeque, a beautiful, clean, and sparkling blue crater-shaped lake.
Transfer back to your hotel in Sunzal.

Early morning Yoga session.
Transfer to the east coast where you stay close to the town of El Cuco, most beautiful beaches of El Salvador! This area is more remote surrounded by tropical lush and volcanic landscape. Enjoy the nice breeze surrounded by lush tropical forest and Pacific Ocean, swinging in one of our hammocks.
Yoga before dinner and 1.5 hour workshop during the afternoon.

Morning Yoga session at the beach of Las Flores.
Afternoon Kayak tour of 2 hours through the mangrove forest of El Esteron with local guide where you can spot different wildlife. You will also see different birds and you may see crocodiles or lizards.

Last morning Yoga Session.
Rest of the day at leisure! Enjoy your afternoon reading in one of the hammocks, taking a relaxing massage or at the pool.
Last night local dinner where the girls at the hotel show you how to make pupusas. A pupusa is a traditional Salvadorian dish of a thick corn tortilla stuffed with a savory filling. It is typically accompanied by curtido, and tomato salsa.
